Pelusey Newsletter - September 2008
As the type of work Pelusey does has changed over the years, the time has come to revamp the website. Although once purely a photographic business, Michael and Jane Pelusey are now involved in many varied projects. Pelusey works with a range of publishers, corporate and government identities.
Please take time to have a good look at our website. One of the main differences in pelusey.com is the blog and portfolio. We will be adding new galleries and topical blogs through out the year.
We would love to have your feedback on the new look.
Recent Publications
In 2008, we have worked with Macmillan Education Australia to produce two series of primary library books.
Zoo Animals came out earlier in the year. This series is part of the Macmillan Young Library and is aimed at young readers.
- Lions and Tigers
- Elephants
- Apes and Monkeys
- Bears
- Giraffes and Zebras
- Hippopotamuses and Rhinoceroses
Australia's Heritage has hit the book shelves. This is a four part series covering:
- World Heritage
- National Heritage
- Local Heritage
- Family Heritage
These books are available in educational book shops and from Macmillan Education Australia.
WA’s Top 50 4WD Guide and Atlas
After we updated track information, HEMA maps has just published the second edition of our 4WD book. Keep an eye out for it in "all good books stores".

Bibbulmun Track
Many of you may be aware that we completed the Bibbulmun Track in 2006. This for us was a life changing experience and to remember our adventure we created our own personal photo book. These books are great for grandparent brag books for Christmas presents or holiday pics.
We used Cahoots photo books to present our photos.
If you have any photos you would like to present go to www.cahoots.com.au . Fiona Harvey is our book maker (Activation Code AJ009983AB4666)
On the Road
We are actually going to be in Perth for a while now. That is a change after the last six months. We have driven from Esperance to Kununurra for a couple of projects:
WA’s Top Trails (assessing walking and cycling trails)
WA’s Top 50 Caravan and campertrailerGuide and Atlas (researching caravan trails)
Australia’s Mineral Resources (researching and visiting mine sites for a series of children’s educational books)
Most recently we spent two weeks in Exmouth and Carnarvon for Children’s Book Week. Public Libraries get grants from 2 fruit & 5 veg to bring authors to their library. School children (often 60-90 at a time) file into the library to learn about our journey in producing books.
Our newsletter will come out regularly with updates of our travel and projects. There will also be reminders of new photo galleries and blog articles. Photo Galleries
Our first photo gallery is from one of our Top Trail assessment adventures. With friends Helen and Chris Fielding, we trekked the challenging Stirling Ridge Walk. Starting at Ellen Peak, we traversed the ridge of the Stirling Ranges. On the eve of the second day we arrived at Bluff Knoll only to descend in the dark. After the pain is gone, this was one of the most spectacular treks we have ever done.
We look forward to hearing from you with comments or feedback.
Cheers
Jane and Michael Pelusey
